Very simply, data is arranged as entities connected by relationships. A drug, clinical trial, patent number, or company can be an entity. Entities are connected to each other by relationships. Drugs to their indications and trials, companies to their drugs, patents to their expiration dates. Entities and relationships have assigned metadata. A drug for instance would have all the data from its Orange Book or NDC record. Our current Professional Edition has nearly three million entities and relationships in the database
